Review Policy & FAQ

Review Policy

For authors and publishers:

I am currently accepting books for review. I read books on a first come, first serve basis unless there is a specific time frame we agree upon before the book is received. My goal is to have a thirty day turnaround, meaning that a review will be posted within thirty days of receiving the book. If there is ever an instance where this would not be possible (because unfortunately, life has a funny way of getting in the way of reading), I will communicate to you in a timely fashion.

In the event that the book is not for me, I will communicate that to you prior to writing a review. I promise to make every effort to read the books I receive, but there are times when despite a well written book, the plot is not interesting to me. BUT just because it is not interesting to me doesn’t mean it won’t be to someone else. This is why I will refrain from writing a DNF (did not finish) review. However in the case that I DNF your book, I will communicate to you the reasons why I was unable to finish.

Genres I Accept:

  • Children’s Books (see Children’s Corner for more information)
  • Women’s Contemporary
  • Science Fiction
  • Fantasy (urban, high)
  • Dystopia
  • Graphic Novel (including Manga)
  • Cozy Mystery
  • Holiday Romance
  • Young Adult or New Adult in the above sub-genres

Genres I Do Not Accept:

  • Erotica
  • Horror
  • YA Contemporary
  • Nonfiction

Formats I accept:

  • ebook – mobi or Kindle format, pdf
  • hardcopy (address available on request)

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I get information about books that I review?

Book Demographics and Book Blurbs are found on the book website at Amazon/Goodreads or given to me by the author unless otherwise noted.

Where does the author info come from?

I use the information given in the About the Author section at the end of most books. If that is not available (or really long) I use the information from Amazon/Goodreads. If I can’t find any information and the author has a website I will paraphrase from their site.

What can I say? The author wrote the book, it’s decent enough for me to blog a review, they deserve credit, and I like learning about the author’s.

What does I received a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review mean?

Well, it means exactly what it says. The author gave me their book for free in exchange for a completely honest review. And if you are an author reading this, I would love to review your books ๐Ÿ™‚

Does that mean that all of them are good? Not necessarily. The reviews found on this site are purely my opinion of the book. It is not influenced in any way by where the book came from. Whether I received an advanced copy from an author or publisher or purchased it myself, I pledge to post honest reviews (good or bad). These reviews are cross posted to Goodreads and Amazon (other places upon request).
