Mom-Top Ten

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Happy Tuesday y’all! This week’s topic is “Books I Loved but Will Never Re-Read,” and that really doesn’t work for me. If I love a book, chances are I want to re-read it. Sometimes immediately 😀 So I decided to tweak the topic a bit. Here are my top ten series that I LOVED and want to re-read but haven’t gotten to YET. As always, these are in no particular order and covers/titles link to Blog/Goodreads/Amazon(aff).

Ten Series I Loved and Want to Re-Read

Book Cover for "The Queen of All that Dies" by Laura ThalassaBook Cover for "Dead Until Dark" by Charlaine HarrisBook Cover for "One for the Money" by Janet EvanovichBook Cover for "Splintered" by A.G. Howard

The Fallen World by Laura ThalassaThis is one of my favorite authors and my favorite dystopian world! This series took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Seriously there were high highs and really low lows. BUT it was AMAZING 😀 And I miss Montes….

Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine HarrisI know a lot of people gave up on this series in the end. They didn’t like the last few books, felt that it was repetitive. Honestly, I loved every word, every turn of the page. It was a light, sometimes horrific, read. BUT I loved it all the same. Eric may be my favorite, but Sam was always high on the list as well. I shipped hard during this series! AND I never could get into the HBO series. It was just too different.

By the Numbers by Janet EvanovichStephanie Plum is one of the funniest characters I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. I started reading this series in high school and have continued with each new release since. I’m SO dedicated to the series I feel I have no choice BUT to finish it. And those first few books are just too good to not re-read 😉

Splintered by A.G. HowardThis trilogy is also on my would re-read forever list from a few weeks ago. I haven’t actually re-read it yet, but I want too so bad. I love Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and this author’s twist on the story is fantastic. The imagery is vivid, and I love Morpheus. I’m thinking I need to re-read this one ASAP!

Book Cover for "Obsidian" by Jennifer L. ArmentroutBook Cover for "The Selection" by Kiera Cass

Matched by Ally CondieThis was the first dystopian trilogy I ever read. Because of it I have my current obsession. I loved this trilogy and I need to re-read it. I’m ashamed to say that it’s been so long (like at least 5 years, maybe more) that I’ve forgotten some of the details. BUT what I do remember is the amazing world-building and the love interest/triangle. While I hate triangles, this one was done well.

Lux by Jennifer L. ArmentroutI read this series for the first time 3 years ago, and I fell in love. I’ve always loved sci-fi but never been a fan of romantic sci-fi. However JLA changed that! Daemon is an enigma. I wanted to hate him. He’s SO arrogant and can be awful to Katy. And don’t get me started on Katy. But the chemistry is steamy and the pacing is fast. I really need to reread this series soonish….I’m thinking it would be a good summer read 😀

Selection by Kiera CassI adore this series. I loved every word, even the additional two books featuring America’s daughter. I loved it all! It was such a fascinating read, and the perfect balance between contemporary and dystopia. It was eerie to me how easily I could picture this world.

Book Cover for "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia and Margaret StohlBook Cover for Sanctum by Sarah FineBook Cover for "Under the Never Sky" by Veronica Rossi

Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia and Margaret StohlIt’s been about 4 years since I read this series. What I remember of it is that I loved it. I enjoyed the mixture of urban and fantasy. I liked the curse, and I was fascinated by the magic featured in the series. I purposely read it prior to watching the movie. Y’all if you’ve seen the movie and haven’t read the series, forget the awful movie. The books are great 😉

Guards of the Shadowlands by Sarah FineThis is one of my all-time favorite series. I’ve re-read it twice, but it’s been about three years since the last time I read it. I’m thinking a re-read is in order. Just to give you a little taste of what the book is about, a girl dies by accident and somehow winds up in the Shadowlands, an afterlife for those that committed suicide. It’s sad and horrific, but I found it fascinating. The author addresses the issue of suicide and depression in teens very well. I couldn’t stop reading and cried multiple times.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica RossiAnother all-time favorite 😀 I adore this series. Told from alternating POVs, I found myself completely entranced in this dystopian world. Perry and Aria are OTP, and I liked that unlike other series that might drag out the love interest through the whole series, this one doesn’t. Instead it allows you to read as their relationship builds. Kinda perfect if you ask me!
