LOVED this book!!! Perfectly Summer by is the third installment in , and this time focuses on Levi London and his crush on his best friend Summer. I’m a sucker for best friend romances anyways so it wasn’t a stretch for me to fall in love with Levi and Summer. Fraught with drama, Perfectly Summer is a sweet read that will leave you smiling long after you finish it. The book begins with Levi excitedly getting off the school bus on the last day of school only to find both his parents at home. His mother is upset, locked in the bathroom. His father… Read more »

Audio Review: One Blood Ruby by Melissa Marr

Audio Review: One Blood Ruby by Melissa Marr

February 26, 2018 Reviews 0

I was REALLY looking forward to starting One Blood Ruby by after I had read the first book in the series. I enjoyed Seven Black Diamonds that much! I liked the multiple POVs, the Fae living in the human world, the modern setting, really all of it. So why was One Blood Ruby not as good as I was hoping?! The book picks up pretty much right where it left off. Lilywhite, now Lilydark, is about to be named the heir to the Hidden Throne. However she has some stipulations, namely that she would like to live in both worlds, stop the war, offer protections to… Read more »

Happy Saturday y’all! Earlier this month you voted for me to read Geekerella by , and I’m SO glad that you did. This is a fun book, full of fangirling, fandoms, and a little romance too. If you enjoy contemporary romance, I highly recommend this sweet YA. Geekerella by is a sweet, fun contemporary YA romance centered around fandoms. Elle is a girl obsessed with the cult-classic show Starfield. When the show gets a movie reboot, she is all kinds of excited until she learns that the soap star Darien Freeman is playing the lead. What Elle doesn’t realize though is that Darien is just… Read more »

January #2018HW Review – Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

February 5, 2018 Reviews 4

Y’all I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved Strange the Dreamer by . I fell into this story and didn’t come up for air until it was over. It was everything I’ve come to love about fantasy. There was action, intrigue, mythology, and romance all tied together neatly to create a magnificent story. Lazlo Strange is an orphan raised by monks who escaped to the library to work as a young teen. Lazlo is a dreamer. He pictures the world around him differently. He believes in fairy tales. And he is inherently good. I don’t think there is… Read more »

Happy Saturday y’all! This month y’all voted for me to read Hunted by and I’m so glad you did. I loved it! I had an eARC of this book that somehow got lost in my pile last year, so I decided to purchase the audiobook for my read this month. I highly recommend it. The narrators are fantastic and I found myself getting lost in the story as they read. If you enjoy fairy tale retellings, fantasy, and a historical/medieval setting, I highly recommend you grab a copy. Hunted by is a fantastic retelling of the beloved classic Beauty and the Beast. I devoured this… Read more »

Happy Saturday y’all! This week was one of those weeks where it was too cold to go out which means it was perfect reading weather. About two years ago (almost 3 now),  I read Spelled by and while it was just an okay read, the ending left me intrigued and wanting more. So imagine my happy surprise when the book turned into a trilogy called . I highly recommend this to those that enjoy fairy tale retellings, urban fantasy, and snark….lots of snark! This review is hard to write because while I really enjoyed Wanted by , I was also really lost through the… Read more »

Review: Sugarplum Way by Debbie Mason

Review: Sugarplum Way by Debbie Mason

January 19, 2018 Reviews 0

I honestly don’t know where to start. Up to this point, every book by I’ve really enjoyed. I enjoy the small town setting, the life-like characters and their banter, and the romance. Each of her couples are unique, playing off each other’s strengths and the chemistry is usually off the charts. However I felt like all of that was lacking in Sugarplum Way.  Julia is one of my favorite female characters in so I was really excited to see her story. I mean she’s a bookaholic, how could I not love and identify with her?! Introverted, quirky, and shy, Julia is me… Read more »

Stone Silence by is an achingly, sweet romance about a young woman who thought she would never find love and a man wracked by guilt. Abandoned on the side of an empty stretch of highway, Spencer walks herself to the point of exhaustion before collapsing in front of a man who at first refused to help her. Stony regrets immediately his hasty no and finds himself caring for an unknown woman for several days while she heals. It begins as a necessary relationship and grows to something much more. Spencer is a likable and relatable character. I could easily picture myself… Read more »

4th Annual End of Year Survey – 2017

December 31, 2017 Features 3

Hosted by: Jamie @ the Perpetual Page-Turner I can’t believe that 2017 will be over today. This year has flown by. I think I say that every year 😉 2017 wasn’t the best reading year for me….or blogging year for that matter. There was drama that pulled me away from blogging and broke my reading spirit. I even nearly quit altogether. I’m happy to say that I’m now learning to love it again and slowly finding my way back onto social media. With that said, thank you all for sticking with me, supporting me, and encouraging me this year. Here’s… Read more »

Review: 12 Days at Bleakly Manor by Michelle Griep

Review: 12 Days at Bleakly Manor by Michelle Griep

December 14, 2017 Reviews 2

12 Days at Bleakly Manor by is a Christmas retelling of the Dickens classic Bleakly Manor. I started this story with zero expectations but quickly fell in love with the writing style of , the mystery surrounding the manor and its guests, and the jilted romance between Ben and Clara. It reminds me a little of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None minus the murdering of course 😉 Clara is a young woman who has lost everything in the last year. On Christmas Eve the year prior she was to wed a man who not only left her at the alter but was… Read more »
