2018 Reading Challenges: 1st Quarter Update

2018 Reading Challenges: 1st Quarter Update

March 30, 2018 Challenges 1

I cannot believe that the first quarter of 2018 is already coming to a close!! It just doesn’t seem possible. I can’t say, however, that I’m sad to see it go. The 1st quarter has been rough for us! Flu, strep throat, medical emergencies….to put it in perspective my husband has met his deductible for the year AND his out of pocket max is also almost met. Despite all the sickness, this 1st quarter was a good reading quarter. I’ve read 34 books (maybe 35 by Sunday, we will see) so far this year and am on track to meet… Read more »

Review: The Secret Heir by Siobhan Davis

Review: The Secret Heir by Siobhan Davis

March 29, 2018 Reviews 0

Another whirlwind read from !¬†The Secret Heir¬†is the second book in her series and picks up a few weeks after the end of¬†The Lost Savior. If you haven’t read that book yet, read ahead with caution as there may be spoilers from the first book in this review (though I’ll try my best to not have any).¬†Book one ended on a pretty awful cliffhanger, not as bad as some of Davis’s previous books but still bad. I was left reeling and SO happy there was only a couple of months wait between the two. I don’t think I would’ve been… Read more »

Can the gamer win the girl in LEVEL ME UP by Lauren Helms? Dex Roberts falls hard and fast for Morgan Lawson, but the last thing Morgan is looking for while attending Comic-Con, is love. Fans of R.S. Grey and Gaming the System series by Brenna Aubrey will love this nerdy and flirty story about what happens when a sweet and sexy pro gamer meets the girl-next-door. ¬†Now available on audiobook! ComicCon, gamers, and nerdy all caught my attention when I first heard about ‘s debut novel¬†Level Me Up. I was a gamer growing up, and it is my dream… Read more »

Review: Pestilence by Laura Thalassa

Review: Pestilence by Laura Thalassa

March 26, 2018 Reviews 1

Who knew pestilence could be so hot?!¬†When I started reading¬†Pestilence¬†by , I’ll be honest that I was skeptical of whether I’d love this angelic-being who spent his time spreading disease to the four-corners of the world. However I have always had faith in as she has not once let me down. Andre, Pluto, Caden, Montes, Desmond, even Jame…each of these have won a place in my heart at one time or another, and now Pestilence joins their ranks. This story is dark, frightening, and at times heartbreaking. Told exclusively from Sara’s point of view, the story of Pestilence unfolds, and… Read more »

Audio Review: The Defiance by A.G. Henley

Audio Review: The Defiance by A.G. Henley

March 8, 2018 Reviews 0

The Defiance¬†never gets old! This is my third time reading ‘s zombie-esque dystopian and first time listening to the audiobook. I love Peree and Fenn, their world, and the fight for a better life. In this installment of the series, Fenn and Peree are back in their villages and must convince their people to return with them to Koolkuna and their protected waters. Fenn is a different person than who we met in the first book. She is more independent now and not afraid to speak her mind. I liked seeing this version of Fenn as she grieves the loss… Read more »
