arbitrate by Megan Thomason is book two of the daynight series and one year has passed since the massive cliffhanger ending of book one. The SCI has overstepped their bounds and the Arbiters step-in to remind them of their original charter. The Exilers, under Blake, are preparing to bring down the SCI and established a new government. Kira’s babies are in danger because of their heritage, and not just the ones that were implanted by force but the ones her friends carried as well. I absolutely loved this installment!!!! There is tremendous character growth for the three main characters and lots of plot… Read more »

Yesterday I told you that I got swept away into the dystopian world of daynight and I wasn’t lying! I really did spend the better part of last weekend and on this series. If you’re not sure that you will like the very unique dystopian world the author’s created, there is a short story that goes between books one and two. This story can be read as a standalone and either before or after daynight without it affecting the overall series. However if you’ve read book one and are looking to dive into book two right away, I highly suggest that you… Read more »

Happy Friday everyone! Last weekend and early this week I disappeared into a new dystopian world full of mystery, suspense, and a little confusion on the heroine’s part. Book one of this series I received as a part of the boxed set What Tomorrow May Bring for review and after finishing it I immediately bought the sequel and the novella that bridges the two. This series took me into a very unique dystopian world and I just couldn’t put it down. I was completely engrossed! If you enjoy dystopians, especially those written for the young adult audience, a little romance, lots… Read more »

“The second star to the right, shines in the night for you…” Neverland, the land where you never grow up, it’s inhabited by Peter Pan and his band of Lost Boys and their battles with the pirates led by Captain Hook…..or is it? Today’s book is a reimagining of the story we all know and love. I came across it in one of my Goodreads groups, the author was offering a copy in exchange for reviews and well after reading the synopsis I decided to give it a read. And I was pleasantly surprised. What’s Your Five

What’s Your Five

June 11, 2014 Features 0

This past weekend a friend of mine on Facebook tagged me in his status and posed the following question: Recently over on Mike Rowe’s page I saw someone ask him to “Please list 5 books (other than the Bible) you think everyone should have to read, and a brief explanation for each.” As I read his list, I started to think of my own. But, I love books so much. Trying to pick just five, just FIVE, is like trying to choose which fingers and toes I love most. I love then ALL. But, ask me to name some off… Read more »

Happy Monday! This past weekend a young woman who I met ten years ago and led in a small group high school class at church got married. And I am so proud of her and her new husband. This got me thinking about my early years of marriage and how we muddled through that first year getting used to living together and being one. Today I wanted to share a book I received through Netgalley for review about what it takes to become a team and act as one in marriage. Happy Friday everyone! Are you looking for something to read and watch this weekend? Well I have the perfect solution. You see today The Fault in Our Stars by John Green comes out in theaters and if you haven’t read the book yet I highly suggest you do. As far as he movie goes, I haven’t seen it yet, and honestly I don’t plan to see it in theaters as I will need a box of tissues, and well I’m not a pretty crier. In fact, I’m the kind people usually laugh at. You know the big hiccuping sobs, big… Read more »
