Broken Skies by Theresa Kay

Broken Skies by Theresa Kay

January 15, 2015 Reviews 4

Broken Skies by Theresa Kay is a fast-paced, action-packed, dystopian set when humans are near extinction and aliens are colonizing the planet. Jasmine, or Jax as she prefers to be called, witnesses her twin brother’s capture by the E’rikon and finds herself face to face with one of them, an alien boy named Lir. Lir is her only hope of getting into the alien city and finding her brother. WARNING: There will be copious amounts of fangirling in this review. In all seriousness, I LOVED this book! I finished it in one sitting, forgoing sleep to see what would happen to… Divider

Mini-Review: Fast Forward by Juliet Madison

Mini-Review: Fast Forward by Juliet Madison

January 14, 2015 Reviews 2

I seriously enjoyed reading Fast Forward by Juliet Madison. The story was sweet, funny, and showed how one decision can affect your entire life! On the eve of Kelli Crawford’s twenty-fifth birthday, she seems to have everything she’s ever wanted in life: a successful career as a model, a best friend to share her secrets with, and a boyfriend who loves her and is going to propose! Then on the morning of her birthday, Kelli wakes up to find she is fifty, married to the boy from high school everyone (including herself) made fun of, and she’s a mom….soon-to-be grandmother! Kelli has… Divider

The Magician’s Lie by Greer Macallister

The Magician’s Lie by Greer Macallister

January 14, 2015 Reviews 0

The Magician’s Lie by Greer Macallister is an intriguing story about a young female illusionist arrested for murdering her husband. I’m not gonna lie, I struggled between loving this book and hating it. In fact at one point I almost sat it down, but I pushed through to the end and I am SO glad I did! The Amazing Arden is arrested by Officer Virgil Holt after the discovery of her husband’s body, hidden under the stage cleaved in half with an axe, the same axe she used in her act. However she is adamant that she didn’t do it, and… Divider

Mini-Review: Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly

Mini-Review: Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly

January 13, 2015 Reviews 0

Waking-up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly is about Connor Reed and Megan Scott who after a wonderful evening wake-up to find themselves married! I have to say I enjoyed this book. It was a fun, light-hearted read that tugged at my own emotions just a little. Megan is an independent woman who isn’t looking for love. In fact she’s given up on men entirely, going as far as setting up an appointment for in vitro fertilization because really who needs a man 🙄 Connor also isn’t looking for love in a relationship, instead he wants a partner (basically all the fun… Divider

Top Ten Tuesday #22 – So Many Books, So Little Time

January 13, 2015 Features 4

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They’d love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists! With a New Year comes new books, but every year I seem to miss some from the year before. In other words, I run out of time and then NEED to play catch up so I can read this year’s books. Well, today’s TTT topic fits this perfectly: “Top Ten 2014 Releases… Read more »

Read-A-Thon: Dusting Off the Shelves

Read-A-Thon: Dusting Off the Shelves

January 9, 2015 Challenges 4

Woohoo for read-a-thons 😀 Dusting off the Shelves is a part of the COYER Reading Challenge so how could I not participate in it. Plus it’s a great way to start weeding through my ever-growing TBR pile. The point of this read-a-thon is to find the oldest UNREAD books on your ebook shelf and read it or DNF and move on. I’m really excited about this. Currently I have well over 100 books on my TBR, all but about 5 were free or one-click sales less than $3 so they ALL qualify for my COYER challenge. Dusting off the Shelves… Read more »
