Why I Love Indie Authors

Why I Love Indie Authors

July 18, 2014 Features 2

Today I am super-excited to be participating in the International Authors Day Blog Hop! So when I started thinking about what I wanted to write about I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than Independent Authors. These men and women work their butts off to provide good reading for you and me, and most of the time their books are cheaply priced. Sometimes I feel like I’m stealing from them, especially when it is such a good book! I became obsessed with indie lit when I read my first book for review, which happened to be Armored by M.A. Wilder. This… Read more »

COVER REVEAL: Of River and Raynn – The Catalyst by Rebecca Ethington

July 17, 2014 Features 0

Have you met River and Raynn yet?  It’s time to get lost in a new world. They found me when I was five; a little girl sitting on a bench in Grand Central Station, soaking wet, asking about the rain. I remembered nothing about how I got there, or who my parents were. I couldn’t even remember my name. I was tagged, labeled and doomed to cycle through state care for the next twelve years; moving from one family to another. They all rejected me as the dreams began to come, the memories began to return, and things around me began to… Divider

Contact by Laurisa White Reyes

July 16, 2014 Reviews 0

Contact by Laurisa White Reyes is a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl who after her sixteenth birthday develops a rather unusual gift…..erhm….curse. Mira Ortiz can know your entire life story…your dreams, your nightmares, every memory…with just one touch. She believes it’s a curse until her mother falls into a coma and Mira believes that the cause is more than her mother’s diabetes. So this book fell flat for me. Don’t get me wrong! The characters, the plot, even the tiniest bit of suspense were good, but just not for me. Let me start with the characters. Mira Ortiz is… Read more »

Top Secret Twenty-One by Janet Evanovich

July 2, 2014 Reviews 0

Today’s book is from one of my all-time favorite series by Janet Evanovich about a thirty-something woman who after losing her husband and her job has to resort to working as a bounty hunter for her cousin. I discovered this series when I was fifteen and I’ve been reading them ever since, anxiously waiting between each installment. If you’ve never read the Stephanie Plum series, you do not know what you are missing! It’s like a cupcake, quick to consume, leaves you feeling light-hearted and wanting more. You will laugh until you cry and then laugh some more. It’s a… Read more »
