Today I wanted to bring you a book by one of my all-time favorite authors. If you have never read anything of Mitch Albom’s, you don’t know what you are missing! His work is unique. When reading any of his work (fiction & nonfiction) you feel like the characters are speaking to you and you are longtime friends. I love this style of writing! It makes for fun, easy reads. So this particular novel is a nonfiction work about two men from entirely different walks of life with different views of God and how both influenced Mitch’s life. Book Demographics… Read more »

Today I wanted to bring to you this awesome story about a girl who when destiny calls she answers. Just a little background……at the end of January I received an email on Goodreads (which if you are a member you know is not uncommon) from an author I’d never heard of asking if I would read her book. So naturally, I went to the book’s information page and saw the cover……….my first reaction was like “Ehhhh? Really a lion? Reminds me of The Chonicles of Narnia. I don’t know.” Then I read the synopsis and was like “I must read… Read more »

This afternoon I wanted to share with you a story I was lucky enough to do receive and review for an author. It is by no means a light-hearted, feel-good story. No, in fact it is a story that too many teens face. This story is not to be taken lightly and I feel like it shone a light on topics such as rape, anorexia, and bullying. It just takes one person to start the cycle, but it also only takes one person to stop it. No one asks for it! In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought I would bring you a book from (in my humble opinion) the king of romance, at least for my generation! The Longest Ride is Nicholas Sparks’s newest novel, released in September of 2013 and I think it is one of my favorites. It is a sweet story about a city girl falling in love with a cowboy. Happy Valentine’s Day! What can I say?! This is Nicholas Sparks at his best! It was such a heartwarming and heartbreaking read all at the same time. I left this story feeling content with its conclusion. The Longest… Read more »

As most of you are stuck in doors with nearly a foot of snow, I got to thinking of a book that could warm you up! I stumbled across Kiss of Fire in January and it quickly became one of my favorite books! (Though if I’m completely honest, book 3 of this series is my absolute favorite!!) This epic story starts in sunny California summer and is told in first person POV from the main character Joclyn Despain. It is a lovely mix of Young Adult and Paranormal Romance, and the author does a good job of keeping it a clean… Read more »

Today I thought I would share with you a book I received last week that I read for review on Goodreads. And I must say it blew me away! I absolutely loved it! Written for the YA audience, it is unique in that it does not have anything to do with paranormal. That’s right! No vampires, no werewolves, no witches. And props to the author for keeping it a clean read and throwing in some Christian values as well. It was such a refreshing read! Deep Green by Trisha Haddad centers around Leah Taylor, who on her Spring Break goes on a… Read more »

So I got to thinking this morning, “What would be a good way to start this week?” My answer, “A first blog post.” But what should it be? Something lighthearted, a child’s book, inspirational? Oh wait! It’s Valentine’s week! So instantly I thought of this book. First Love is the newest romance published by James Patterson (one of my favorite authors by the way!). If you’ve never read a James Patterson romance book before, I suggest that you go do that ASAP! One of my favorites is Sundays at Tiffany’s, but this one if good too! WARNING!!!!
