Happy Sunday y’all! This week was a low key week. It has rained every day….EVERY DAY!!! My little man is getting stir crazy. He’s not a fan of getting dirty so going out an playing in the vast amount of mud we have isn’t appealing to him. Though we have made it out a few days where lightening hasn’t accompanied the rain and played. It’s better than nothing I guess. Last year I was complaining about no rain and drought. This year we’ve had a very wet summer. At least it makes for good reading time.

Independence Day in the US was celebrated on Tuesday. We spent the day with my parents, had ribs and shot some fireworks rather than going to the city’s big celebration. It was nice, low key, even if my dad nearly killed me with a stray bottle rocket ? Sorry Daddy, you’re never living that one down.

Reading wise, I read three books this week, The Savage Dawn by Melissa Grey being my favorite. Seriously if you enjoy urban fantasy, grab this series and binge it this week. It doesn’t disappoint.

This Week’s Book Fix

What are you reading this week?

This week we are prepping for a mini-vacation followed by a staycation. The hubby has next week off and we are heading to the mountains for a couple of much needed relaxation days. When we get back, I have a honey do-list for a few things around the house: putting shelving up in the laundry room, fixing shelving in pantry, organizing garage, etc. I don’t expect us to get it all done but we can at least get it started. Reading wise I have a few arcs calling my name that are due out in August plus about 10 reviews to write so I’ll be busy.

What did you read this week? Are you binging a favorite series? Any vacation plans? Share below

  1. The two that you are currently reading both have very striking covers. I’ve got a ton of things that need doing in the house and garden which I can’t do alone but getting my dad motivated to help me is proving impossible at the moment. I wanted to get the house in order by autumn so I can relax over the winter but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen!

  2. So sorry to hear about your dreadful weather:(. For a wonder – we have sweltering in amazing temperatures. I’m loving it, but I’m aware many folks can’t cope and besides, we’re only really set up for drizzle here in the UK… I love the sound of The Savage Dawn and keep promising myself to get hold of the Rachel Caine series, which looks fabulous – once I get my TRB pile under control! I hope you have a MUCH better week weatherwise! My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/07/09/sunday-post-9th-july-2017/

  3. I wish we would get a few rainy days here to bring the heat down. It’s still 90 degrees at 9pm! I’m sure that was a scary moment nearly being taken out by a bottle rocket! I remember my cousin setting one off when we were about 8 or so, and he caught the neighbor’s field on fire! I hope you enjoy your vacation and staycation! We also have a few to-dos that need to be addressed around the house. Happy reading!

  4. We had a couple days of a rain here which was great for the 100 degree + weather we have been having. It didn’t help much but my little ones enjoyed the mud. A getaway to the mountains sounds amazing, I have been wanting to go hiking but it has been too hot.
