Feature & Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee @ Parajunkee’s View and Alison @ Alison Can Read. Each week the two hosts post a question for Book Bloggers to answer, provide a link-up, and choose a participant to feature on their blogs. If you participate, the point is to follow others and in return gain followers.
Welcome to this week’s edition of Feature & Follow! I’m Lillian in case you didn’t know that already 😉 I started blogging a year ago and it has been a fun and crazy year! I read pretty much anything that is placed in front of me, I’m a bit of a cover snob, and I tend to gravitate to young adult fiction. Why young adult? Well, it’s usually a cleaner read than adult fiction, there’s plenty of action/suspense, and who can resist a romance about first love?!
My blog features whatever I happen to be in the mood to read. I’ve had some fun interviews with authors and characters and hope to do more in the very near future. Please join me in some bookish adventures. You can follow via Bloglovin or anyway you choose 😀
This week’s questions is: “What is the first book you remember reading?” – Suggested by Bookish Findings
I can honestly say that I don’t remember what the first book was. I read ALOT and always have 😉 Some of my earliest memories include my mom reading to me. When I got a little older we would read chapter books together. This is one of the first I remember reading with her:
I really loved this book and it took us a few weeks to read it (only reading a chapter a night). I know that I really didn’t understand what was happening to the Old Yeller.
The first book I can remember every picking up to read on my own was this:
My mom let me subscribe to a book of the month club when I was 8 or 9 and this was one of the first books I picked. I loved the cover and description! And guess what….I still have it, though it looks a little worse for the wear. 5 moves will do that to a book 😉
What book is the first you remember ever reading?
…or follow any way you chose 😀
Remember this is a blog hop. Be sure to visit the other blogs and give them some love too!
Christmas in July
With the year a little more than halfway over, I couldn’t resist bringing a little holiday cheer to the summer. Merry Mondays is coming back starting July 6th and I would love to have you participate 😀 What is Merry Mondays? Why I’m glad you asked. It’s a weekly feature that I started last December and I thought would be fun for July as well. Each week will have a different theme all centered around Christmas and the holiday season. Want to participate? Click here for the dates and topics. Also if you participate, be sure to come back here and link-up your post!
OMG! My mom just bought Old Yeller for the 9 year old she’s a nanny to! That poor kid! I guess if it didn’t scar you for life then maybe he’ll be okay. Old follower 🙂

Hopefully he enjoys it!! I did, but looking back on it I don’t know how my mom read it without crying!
OKAY. I LOVE ISLAND OF THE BLUE DOLPHIN. I haven’t read it in so long but I loved it growing up. I’ve been meaning to get myself a new copy.

It’s one of my faves 😀 Hope you can find a copy!
Oh wow, I think we had to read Old Yeller for school. I’m sure I cried; I become an emotional mess with books, Disney movies, etc., LOL. New follower!

Me too!! My copy looks nothing like the picture above it. It’s so worn and the book jacket disappeared sometime in the 90s 😉
that is so awesome that you can remember reading with your mom and that she let you join a book of the month club!! Lucky!! 🙂 I actually only read Island of the Blue Dolphin a couple years ago.
I had forgotten about Island of the Blue Dolphins, but I do remember loving it! I’m too scared to read Old Yeller; I’ve only heard about the sad parts! 🙁
Old Bloglovin’ follower! 🙂

OMG!!!! “Old Yeller”!!! I remember reading this one, too!! Yep, you’ve just jogged my memory! Lol. I don’t know why this one didn’t come up for me right away, since I loved it so much as a kid (although I’m more of a horse person).
I have wanted to read “The Island of the Blue Dolphins” for the LONGEST time….I wish I had gotten around to it as a child. Well, I’m a child at heart, though, so I can still read it. Lol.
Thanks for dropping by and commenting on my FF post!! : )

I think I’ve seen the first one around today, it looks familiar somehow but I don’t remember reading it. The second one I’ve definitely seen before, but haven’t read either. It has a beautiful cover though!
Thanks for stopping by. I’m following via Bloglovin

My mom and I read together too! It was my favorite time of the day! We read the Little House on the Prairie series together. I read Island of the Blue Dolphins in 6th grade, and loved it! The first chapter book I remember reading on my own had to be a Nancy Drew book or Junie B. Jones book or a Boxcar mystery book. Lol I read a lot when I was little that I honestly cannot remember one specific book.
